A Tandoori is a clay oven which I don’t have but I do have a George Forman type grill.
I had a packet of Tandoori spices sent over from the UK for me, if you would like to make your own spice mix try this recipe TANDOORI
ingredients
Chicken breasts and/or Lamb
Tandoori powder
50gm Natural yoghurt + 25gm
Mint
Salad
2 Lemons
Mix 2Tbsp of Tandoori powder with the 50gms of yoghurt and half the juice of a lemon, Make cuts in the meat and pour the yoghurt mix over the meat and marinate 4-5hrs or even better over night
Cook on a hot grill, you can cook Tandoori chicken on a BBQ, great for summer evenings in the garden.
Chop up fresh mint and add to the 25gms of yoghurt
Dress up a serving board or plate, I’ve used Rocket, sliced tomatoes and yellow peppers, drizzle with olive oil and mix it up.
Slice up the chicken and arrange over the salad add the lamb, spoon a little minty yoghurt over the top, serve the rest with the food, quarter up lemons and scatter over the top, serve with a chilled juice, I had grape juice……… OK, I had wine, a dry but fruity Muscadet from just south of me in the Loire.
To finish, spread a little olive oil on a slice of bread and grill it and serve with spicy potato wedges.
